vintage maxi skirt ♥

i scored this vintage gem skirt right before i left, and knew it would be joining me on this trip. everything about the pattern makes my eyes light up-- i would decorate every couch in my house (if i had more than 1 couch) with it, that's how much i love it. the north and west of ireland are surprisingly a bit warmer, and the sun actually comes out! these were taken at the giant's causeway. shortly after, i got to PET A SHEEP, which was a goal of mine on this trip. all of the locals are so nice and welcoming, it is such a lovely place. ♥

castles and fields of green in Northern Ireland ♚♛♞

i am not the type of girl who can just throw on sweats and sneaks and go for a hike-- because matt and i love to shoot photographs along the way, and i like to wear fabulous vintage in these photos. i wouldn't exactly consider myself "high-maintenance" because i'm okay with outdoors-y activities and i never mind breaking a little sweat, but i just have a fine appreciation for beautiful film photographs in obscure locations, and if i can be in the photographs wearing vintage, well that's all the more fun! so we hiked up cavehill in belfast and i wore this beautiful vintage coat that i picked up in dublin along the way. the only exception to my rule were the shoes, and to be honest these hunter boots saved my freaking life. they were so muddy by the end of our hike, it almost made me sad to see how gross they looked!

we stayed in this adorable bed and breakfast called evelyn's b and b and it truly felt like we stepped into a wes anderson film, or a compartment of one of my childhood dollhouses. it was by far the best room i've ever slept in. we also saw belfast castle, which is beautiful on the outside, but absurdly modernized on the inside (which was somewhat of a let down). there were cat statues in the gardens in all shapes and sizes, which was definitely my favorite part. i will post more soon =) xo!

hello from ireland!

we are here! we've already explored the beautiful city of dublin, and are now making our way into northern ireland, staying at bed and breakfasts' along the way. a few memorable stops in dublin included:

♥ harlequin vintage shop / lucy's lounge vintage shop- vintage shops are so different in ireland, they are an experience here filled with magic & hand selected pieces!

♥ oil can harry's- matt and i stopped in for some "last call" drinks and met some die-hard locals who were not ready to leave. that's when it really felt like we had arrived!

it has been so wonderful hearing from local readers on instagram! if you have visited, or live here please share with us, we are soaking in suggestions :) i will be back with more photos soon! xo

are you on a mission, or are you just cruising around?

my nyc days are years behind me, and i am the first to admit, i am a little rusty. the constant growth and change in the city is tiring to keep up with, and i am extremely lucky to have friends who are still residing in the bubble who can guide me on my visits! my friend ella played tour guide for matt and i, and showed us around greenpoint, brooklyn. I had never spent much time there because everyone always told me the infamous "G" train made it a hard destination to reach, but it is adorable. the streets are lined with polish bakeries, coffee shops and little vintage stores! brooklyn has developed into an entirely new animal, totally separate from NYC (and not just in W.Burg), which is incredible considering my dad was nervous when i told him i was moving to bushwick in 2009.

later in the evening, we grabbed mexican food in the lower east side, and headed back to long island. next stop, ireland!

NYC: Nolita Day 1.

new york city is as beautiful as i remember. so many months have passed since my last visit, but the city and i always pick right back up where we left off. nothing makes me feel more alive than walking around with the brisk cold air against my face. we spent our first day walking down streets we've never explored, seeing old faces, eating peruvian cuisine, almost seeing a jazz show & ending the night listening to willie nelson on record in our best friends greenpoint apartment. ♥ here's what i wore for a big chunk of the day!
